Sunday we had our core group come out to work on creating pieces and adding materials to the cause. We also did a mock up of the flag and tossed around ideas for including objects as well as cardboard art and portraits (which by the way we decided should be closer to 18" X 36" in size). Beach rafts, canoe, baby pool, Cameron crazies, gnomes...and an I-85 sign was being constructed from a blue sequined top! I love the fun and funky ideas that were being tossed around! Last night I added these to the list of cut outs/overlays:musical instruments, locopop, lucky strike tower (in blue of course), sister cities signs, the train, logos for Durham Central Park and other orgs, Durham Bull, Film camera (representing film festivals), dancer (ADF), ...what do you think?
We are also encouraging folks to dress in blue and bring blue blankets, towels, etc. in case we need some last minute fill!
